SOCIOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF CASSAVA VALUE CHAIN IN EKITI STATE, NIGERIA

The study investigated the socioeconomic analysis of cassava value chain in Ekiti state, Nigeria using Primary data. data were sourced with aid a well-structured questionnaire and Focused Group Discussion (FGD) interviews. A multistage sampling technique was used to randomly select total 300 respondents area. analyzed descriptive statistics also known as functional analysis. Functional indicates presence 5 major actors (Input supplier, producers, processors, marketers consumers) chain. results showed that two-third male mean age being 50 years. About 80% them married average about persons per household, over had at least primary school education. On basis income level, earn highest (N314, 786) among followed by processors (N224, 500), input suppliers (N196, 666), producers (N151, 041) consumers (N47, 000). These characteristics have some influence on demand supply products It is therefore recommended government non-governmental organization should enact policies programmes aimed equipping needed skills expertise this will expose current trends technologies for effective production.
